Right to Life of Michigan needs your help! We'd like to contact every pro-life voter in our state to encourage them to vote in the primary this year and letting them know the names of the RLM Political Action Committee endorsed candidates. Get-Out-the-Vote volunteers have started calling this week.
What's at Stake
We need more pro-life legislators willing to protect women and minor girls. Our current governor has publicly stated her goal to eliminate informed consent and parental consent requirements in Michigan.
What's Involved in Making Get-Out-the-Vote Phone Calls?
Volunteers use an app called Campaign Sidekick, which may be used either on your phone or on a computer. The app is VERY SIMPLE to use.
You decide the time when you make the phone calls. Even if you only have an hour a week, it would be a great help! Phone calls may be made between 9 AM and 9 PM each day. Your personal phone number is NOT visible to the person receiving the calls.
The app database contains the phone numbers of voters who have identified themselves as pro-life in the past. Whenever the person you call does not answer the phone, you push a button to leave a recorded voice mail message.
How do I get started?
For volunteers in Macomb County, call or email Lisa Hunter, our RLM field representative, and let her know you would like to make Get Out the Vote phone calls. She will provide you with the username and password and instructions for how to get started. Lisa Hunter, (616) 532-2300, lhunter@rtl.org
For volunteers in other counties, you may volunteer at https://rtl.org/volunteer/
Political action is a right and a natural activity for all of us who wish to see human life protected in our state. We have the duty and privilege to select the legislators who write the law, the judges who will interpret the law, and the officers who uphold it.
The key to success in any election comes down to voter turn-out.
Right to Life of Michigan Political Action Committee is training scores of prolife volunteers who will go door-to-door or call from the comfort of their homes to connect with pre-screened prolife voters. The training is easy and the work is easier with a great software program that walks you through each step. Please consider volunteering this year.
Start by voting in the Primary Election.
Important Dates:
Let's all work together to get out the vote!

On June 25, a Michigan judge issued a preliminary injunction against the state's mandatory 24-hour waiting period before receiving an abortion, as well as the state's "informed consent" law and a ban on advanced practice clinicians providing abortion care.
Right to Life of Michigan president, Ameber Roseboom, issued the following statement on June 26.
Women in Michigan should be on notice. The reckless ruling by Judge Sima G. Patel prevents enforcement of the 24-hour waiting period and informed consent for abortion law and now allows for non-physicians to perform abortions. This dangerous move comes on the heels of Governor Gretchen Whitmer and her Democratic allies in Lansing removing common-sense health and safety standards for abortion clinics.
There is no question that women are at greater risk when they enter an abortion clinic today than they were a year ago.
This decision presents an immediate threat to women considering an abortion in our state. The 24-hour waiting period and informed consent law has been in place for more than 30 years, providing women seeking an abortion with medically accurate information, including common risks associated with the procedure. As a result of this dangerous development and disregard for patients’ rights, women in Michigan are no longer guaranteed access to important facts.
Beyond the immediate threat to women’s well-being, the ruling is an affront to democracy and the will of the people of Michigan. Unable to gain the votes needed to overturn the 24-hour waiting period and informed consent in the state legislature, activists appealed to the courts under Proposal 3 to strip these protections. Moreover, an overwhelming majority of voters (66%) support the 24-hour waiting period and informed consent.*
*Marketing Resource Group (MRG) conducted a poll of registered voters in the state of Michigan, April 8 – 11, 2024 (614 Sample/MOE 4%).
Several of our board members attended Legislative Day in Lansing on May 1. Wesley Smith spoke about Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) and emphasized that we should never accept the premise that "killing is an acceptable answer to human suffering". This cuts off all hope and leads to abandonment, darkness, and despair.
We must resist the euthanasia agenda targeted at our elderly, disabled, and vulnerable youth.
During the event, participants also honored Barbara Listing, past president of Right to Life of Michigan, and her 43 years of devoted service.
Sarah Winogrocki interviewed our new RLM president, Amber Roseboom, during the event.
